Inaugural Speech at the Symposium to Commemorate the Opening of the Research Center of Korean Culture of Josai International University

On January 13, 2007, a screening of Korean movies and the symposium "Universities Transcending Country Borders, Movies Connecting Asia – On Toshiyuki Kajiyama, Shin Sang-ok and Im Kwon-taek" were held at the Tokyo Kioi-cho Campus of Josai International University.

This symposium was to commemorate the opening of the Research Center of Korean Culture. Chancellor Noriko Mizuta delivered the inaugural speech, saying "Josai International University has been entertaining an in-depth exchange with Korean universities, and this has produced a variety of research results. We have now added the Research Center of Korean Culture in an effort to deepen our exchange and research activities further, and for this, I would like to ask you all for your warm support and cooperation."

At the meeting, which Chancellor Noriko Mizuta also attended, Toshiyuki Kajiyama's wife, Ms. Minae Kajiyama, as well as symposium participant Takashi Utsumi (professor at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies), Masahiro Shinoda (guest professor at the Faculty of Media Studies of Josai International University), Katsuhiro Kuroda (chief of the Seoul branch of Sankei Shimbun newspaper), Takashi Monma (assistance professor at Meiji Gakuin University) and others told each other stories about Toshiyuki Kajiyama, making the meeting interesting and stimulating.
