Josai Delegation Visits Dalian Mayor Li Wan Cai

A delegation from Josai University Educational Corporation led by Chancellor MIZUTA Noriko paid a visit to Dalian Mayor Li Wan Cai on May 31.

Top leaders from Dalian University of Technology and Dalian University of Foreign Languages were also in attendance at the meeting, where Mayor Li was pleased to learn of the growing scope of academic exchange programs between Josai and Dalian such as the Josai-Dalian Welfare and Human Resources Scholarship, as well as the continued development of studies on industry in the city of Dalian.

Accompanying the group was Josai Advisor Murai Takashi, who not only occupies the post of Standing Advisor for the Japan-China Society, but is also an honorary citizen of Dalian and an honorary faculty member of Dalian University of Technology. As organizer of such events as the Japan-China Acacia Gathering, Canon Cup Japanese Speech Contest, and Iwatani Cup Welding Competition, Murai has played an extremely active role in strengthening the relationship between Dalian and Japan, while contributing to Dalian’s economic and cultural development. Mayor Li offered Advisor Murai warm thanks for his invaluable service.

Mayor Li addressed the group by saying, “Dalian is currently in the midst of a period of intense growth in which international investors have played a tremendous role in revolutionizing Guandong’s old industrial sectors and helping to create plans that facilitate urbanization. It is my sincere hope that all of you will continue to take interest in Dalian’s development while working to further strengthen ties between Japan and Dalian through continued academic exchange.”
