In the opening remarks, Mr. Ono reflected that our connection with Hungary started in 2007 when we entered into an Academic and Educational Agreement with the Budapest Business School. In the past ten years, student exchange between the two parties was realized every year, and the relationship has been mutually rewarding. Rector Heidrich expressed his words of gratitude towards Josai University for the warm welcome and assured the members of continuous support through academic and student exchange.

Within Josai’s mid-term target of strengthening international exchange to cultivate global human resources, Central Europe or the Visegrad Group (aka V4: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia) has always been an area of our strategic importance. Josai has annually co-hosted V4+Japan Seminar on latest topics with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and embassies of V4 Nations in Tokyo. Currently, 41 exchange students from the V4 are studying at Josai and Josai International University. We are one of very few universities to offer Hungarian, Czech and Polish language classes.
