学校法人城西大学出版会は2013年3月に学校法人城西大学に設置されました。その目的は第一に、本学に所属する城西大学、城西国際大学、城西短期大学がこれまで行ってきた学術研究活動の成果を知的財産として広く社会に発信すること。第二に、本学が有する知的財産の公開を通じて本学の教育研究活動のさらなる活性化を図ること。第三に、それらの活動によって学術・文化を振興するとともに社会の発展に寄与することです。
　 本出版会はその目的に沿って、設置から1年経過した2014年3月までに次の2冊の書籍を刊行しました。①水田宗子対談・鼎談・シンポジウム集の第1巻である『家父長制とジェンダー』（水田宗子編、2014年2月刊行）。②郭位著、孫久富監訳の『科学者の視点から見た原子力発電の課題と将来性：福島原子力発電所事故からみたエネルギー・環境保護・安全性・信頼性の諸問題』（2014年3月刊行）。
　 そして2015年に学校法人城西大学が創立50周年を迎えるにあたり、本出版会は創立者水田三喜男先生の『蕗のとう／水田三喜男自伝』の中国語版書籍の刊行を予定しています。ほかにも水田宗子対談・鼎談・シンポジウム集の第2巻や、本学の学術研究成果を順次刊行する予定です。
　 本出版会の活動に先立って、城西国際大学ではメディア学部メディア情報学科でのメディア教育の一環として城西国際大学出版会を設置し活動を行ってきました。城西国際大学出版会では現在続刊中の『小松左京全集完全版』や、大庭みな子著、大庭優訳の『Urashimaso』や、水田宗子著、叶渭渠編訳の『女性的自我与表現：近代助成文学的歴程』を刊行し、本学の教育研究活動および社会への貢献に努めてきました。
　 本出版会は学校法人城西大学に所属する大学、各センターがこれまで蓄積し、公開してきた知的財産をより広く社会に発信することを使命として、出版活動を行います。

The Josai University Educational Corporation University Press was opened within Josai University Educational Corporation in March 2013. The press’s main goal is to widely spread within society the academic findings resulting from the research endeavors undertaken so far by universities affiliated with Josai University Educational Corporation–Josai University, Josai International University and Josai Base College. Secondly, the press seeks, through the publication of research findings, to further enhance the research and teaching activities of our universities. These activities will promote culture and learning which will in turn promote the development of our society.
　 Following these guidelines, the press published within the first year after its creation (till March 2014) the following two books: 1) Noriko Mizuta: Collected Interviews, Discussions, and Symposia 1, Patriarchy and Gender, February 2014; 2) Way Kuo, trans. Jiufu Sun, Issues and Prospects of Nuclear Power Generation from the Perspective of a Scientist: Various Problems of Energy/Environmental Protection/Safety/Reliability from the Viewpoint of the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster, March 2014.
　 As Josai University Educational Corporation will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2015, the press will publish a Chinese translation of Josai’s founding figure Mikio Mizuta’s book Butterbur Shoots: Autobiography of Mikio Mizuta. Our press will also release this upcoming year Noriko Mizuta: Collected Interviews, Discussions, and Symposia 2 in addition to other research findings.
　 Josai International University Press (part of JIU’s Faculty of Media Studies), which was established before Josai University Educational Corporation University Press, is making all efforts to contribute to society and to our universities teaching and research activities. The press is currently working on the publication of a Collected Works of Sakyo Komatsu, Complete Edition as well as Urashimaso written by Minako Oba and translated by Yu Oba and an Anthology of Contemporary Japanese Women’s Writing (Literary Criticism) written by Noriko Mizuta and translated by Weiqu Ye.
　 Josai University Educational Corporation University Press will from now on make public the wealth of academic information and materials amassed by the universities and research centers affiliated with Josai University educational corporation through publications.
