Although international cooperation is increasing in the world, there are still misunderstandings and conflicts between countries, cultures and groups. We can see examples of this every day in the news. A lot of these conflicts emerge because of the way people with different backgrounds communicate with each other causing a breakdown in the communication process. In this course, we will try to understand how and why these problems happen and result in conflicts. For this, we will examine how the technique of negotiation is used to solve conflicts or differences between countries, in business, and between ordinary individuals. One main purpose of the course is to have students exchange ideas about international differences by using English. Students with average to good English can join the course.
