Conclusion of Academic Exchange Agreement with Tianjin Foreign Language Studies Univeristy

On Thursday October 11, 2007, Professor Xiu Gang, Rector of Tianjin Foreign Language Studies University in Tianjin, China, visited Chancellor Dr. Noriko Mizuta at the Josai University Kioicho Campus. The visit provided an occasion for signing an academic exchange agreement between the two institutions.

Chancellor Mizuta welcomed the agreement with Tianjin Foreign Language Studies University in Tianjin, a city known for its economic development. She closed her address with wishes that this agreement provide an opportunity for closer exchange between students and faculty of the two institutions.

Emphasizingees its use of language studies as a doorway to study in any academic field, Rector Xiu pointed to the fact that his university and Josai University share the same founding principles and expressed his joy in being able to conclude the agreement.

Founded in 1964, Tianjin Foreign Language Studies University has 15 faculties and 22 undergraduate departments as well as three research fields and eight research centers at the graduate level, with a total of about 8,200 students.
