Academic Exchange Pact Concluded with Marian University, U.S.A.

On September 25th, 2008, Josai University Educational Corporation concluded an academic exchange pact with Marian University, Wisconsin.

Chancellor Mizuta became acquainted with President of Marian University Josefina Castillo Baltodano, J.D. who was one of the panelists at “A Global Dialogue-Women in Higher Education” held at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Chancellor Mizuta signed the academic exchange pact together with President Baltodano in Honolulu, and promised the future development of friendly relations between the two universities.

Marian University opened as Marian College in 1936, and became coeducational in 1970. About 30% of the currently enrolled students are males. It offers departments in the field of humane studies, business administration, natural science, nursing science and education. Student activities are also vibrant; the women’s volleyball team has a long history, and many students are passionate about basketball, baseball, cross-country, hockey and soccer.
