Chancellor Mizuta holds a press conference in her capacity as a director of the “NPO Network Japan”

The founding meeting of the NPO Network Japan, with its goal of creating connections between former foreign students with experience studying in Japan and the country of Japan, was held on January 22 inside The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Mr. Hiroshi Takahashi, the President of Tokyo Metropolitan University, acted as the originator of the idea for the NPO, and many sympathizers from government, finance and academia have become officers, including Chancellor Noriko Mizuta of Josai University who took on the position of director.

At a press conference held immediately after the founding ceremony, Chancellor Mizuta attended. In her remarks, she said that former foreign students in Japan who can speak Japanese are a valuable resource for Japan. She said the new organization aimed at strengthening ties between those students and universities and industries on a broad basis. She also called for understanding of its activities and the participation of as many people as possible.
