On May 30th, the award ceremony presenting the “Mukaibo Takashi Memorial” Murai Takashi Scholarship and the “Mizuta Mikio Memorial” Mizuta Noriko Scholarship was held at China’s Dalian University of Technology. After opening remarks by Dalian University of Technology Vice President of Graduate Studies, Song Dan, the scholarships were presented to students selected by Advisor Murai Takashi and Chancellor MIZUTA. Chancellor MIZUTA remarked, “Yesterday, at the alumni association meeting, I was able to meet with many of the past award fellows and was deeply impressed to learn of all their various endeavors. My hope is that you too will take this scholarship as a motivation to become leaders in both China and Japan.”

Student Spokesperson Xu Yi expressed his gratitude by saying, “It is an honor to be awarded a scholarship with such a rich tradition. I’m deeply thankful to receive support from a source that transcends national boundaries, and I vow not to forget this as I move forward in my studies.”

The award ceremony was followed by the presentation of the 7th annual Mizuta Mikio Memorial Book Donation. After a brief statement of purpose by Fukushima Kazunobu, Josai University Director of Academic Affairs, the donation was presented to Dalian University of Technology’s College of Management President and founder of the Mizuta Collection, Su Jing Qin. Due to the recent Great East Japan Earthquake this donation included a great number of materials on crisis management, technological innovation, business continuity management, and other related topics.

The ceremony concluded in a congenial manner with a few words from Dalian Vice President Guiling Ning who said, “As I too was a member of the first class of recipients of the “Mukaibo Takashi Memorial” Murai Takashi Scholarship, I am very pleased to have taken part in the events of the last two days. I hope that all of you will do your best to meet the expectations awaiting you.”
