Josai Delegation Visits Secretary Liu Zhen Wan of DLUFL, Donates Materials on Public Welfare, Picture Books to the Children’s Library

On May 31, a delegation from Josai led by Chancellor MIZUTA paid a visit to Secretary Liu of Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DLUFL).

Secretary Liu welcomed the visitors from Josai to the Lushun campus, thanking Josai and JIU for hosting the numerous exchange students from Dalian over the years. He said that these students always returned both enriched and more mature for the experience.

Chancellor MIZUTA was scheduled to present Secretary Liu with an honorary degree from Josai in April, but the ceremony has been postponed due to the Great East Japan Earthquake. She urged Liu to visit the Josai campus at his earliest convenience for a make-up ceremony. The retinue from Josai also provided an update on the status of Dalian exchange students and recipients of the Josai-Dalian Welfare and Human Resources Scholarship studying at Josai. Commemorating the foundation of the aforementioned scholarship, Chancellor MIZUTA announced the donation of materials on public welfare to the DLUFL library as well as picture books to the Dalian Memorial Children’s Library at JIU.

Being an expert in the field of tourism, Secretary Liu expressed interest in JIU’s Faculty of Tourism, and the two universities vowed to collaborate on a “Japanese-Chinese Dictionary of Tourism.” A coordinator was selected, thereby setting the project in motion. All of us eagerly await the completion of this latest project.
