Josai Visits the Embassy of Japan in Hungary

On June 15, upon the invitation of Japanese Ambassador to Hungary Ito Tetsuo , the Japanese delegation attended a luncheon at the official residence of the ambassador. Director of the Asian Bureau for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Szerdahelyi István, former Hungarian Ambassador to Japan and current Josai professor Sűdy Zoltán, and Dean Hidasi from Josai sister institution Budapest Business School were also in attendance. Vice President of the Japan-Hungary Friendship Association, Márton Atilla, who visited the Josai campus November of last year, also took time out from his busy schedule to attend the event.

Ambassador Ito started off the luncheon by paying high praise to Josai for their activity in Hungary, followed by Director Szerdahelyi’s pledge of unwavering support in continuing to deepen Hungarian relations with Josai. V.P. Márton added that he would like to establish a program in his hometown of Hajdúszoboszló, a European resort town famous for its hot springs, for Josai students participating in short-term research in Hungary.

The delegation from Josai expressed their appreciation for the cooperation of the Hungarian government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all the participating Hungarian universities in helping to develop academic exchange between Josai and Hungary since the bolstering of this program in 2007. The delegation also explained their ideas for further strengthening Josai-Hungarian relations in the areas of education and research.
