Malaysian Minister of Tourism Held a Dinner Reception for members of Josai University Educational Corporation

On July 18, the visiting Josai delegation led by Chancellor Noriko Mizuta, attended a dinner reception hosted by Malaysian Minister of Tourism Dato' Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen at hotel in the Kuala Lumpur suburb of Putrajaya.

At the introduction of the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Minister Dato' Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen visited Tokyo Kioicho Campus on November 25, 2011, holding an interview with Chancellor Mizuta and meeting with Josai students. Since then, the Minister has facilitated several academic exchanges between Josai and Malaysian institutions of higher education, including one with Tunku Abdul Rahman College, which Josai has had the occasion to visit twice. Beginning this year, the exchange program agreed to in their first meeting will finally be realized, with Josai sending over 50 students to Tunku Abdul Rahman for study and 20 students from the Malaysian university coming to Josai.

At the dinner reception, the delegation pledged their dedication to deepening relations with Malaysia even further and were introduced to numerous top academics and entrepreneurs from the Malaysian community.
    It was later announced that, in recognition of her many accomplishments for the expansion of Malaysian tourism and as a female leader, as well as her persistent support of Josai University, Josai will be awarding Minister Dato' Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen an honorary doctoral degree. The ceremony conferring the degree is scheduled to take place during JIU’s Fall commencement, on September 4 of this year.
