On September 5, during her visit to Shenyang, Josai University Educational Corporation Chancellor Noriko Mizuta received an honorary professor from Northeastern University.

In addition, NEU’s Vice-President Wang Fu Li attended the World University Presidents Forum held last April at JIU in commemoration of their 20th anniversary.
Finally, Josai, in cooperation with Dalian University of Technology and Dalian University of Foreign Languages, established the Japan-China Joint Graduate Program in 2010 which offers a variety of intensive courses for visiting exchange students.

This honorary professor was presented to Chancellor Mizuta to acknowledge her many contributions and accomplishments in the area of academic exchange between the two schools. Vice-President Wang Fu Li presented Chancellor Mizuta with the degree with faculty members from both universities in attendance.

Upon receiving the award, Chancellor Mizuta said, “It is with great honor that I accept this esteemed honorary professor from Northeastern University. I vow to continue to work hard for the development of our two universities.” The conferral of this degree marks Chancellor Mizuta’s 4th honorary degree to date, having also received awards from South China Normal University, Korea’s Dongseo University, and Hungary’s Szent Istvan University.
