2013.11.21 Josai Announces Foundation of the Josai Institute for Central European Studies
Based on Josai’s academic achievements in the study of Central Europe, Josai has announced the establishment of the Josai Institute for Central European Studies to promote joint research, academic exchange, human resource development, and undergraduate and graduate education in this same region.
2013.11.21 Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán Visits Josai
His Excellency Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary, visited Tokyo Kioicho Campus, received an honorary doctoral degree and also gave a special lecture.

Chancellor Noriko Mizuta was awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary (civil division) from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at the Hungarian Embassy in Japan.

2013.10.25 Josai’s Polish Exchange Students Give Presentation at Prime Minister Hosted “Poland, Ireland Evening Reception”
Polish exchange students from the University of Warsaw and the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology who are currently studying at Josai were invited to give a presentation to promote Japan-Poland exchange at the “Poland, Ireland Evening Reception” hosted by the household of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
2013.9.30 Josai Hosts Ceremony for Noriko Mizuta Hungary, Poland, Czech Scholarship; Pays Visit to Polish Embassy
The Noriko Mizuta Hungary Scholarship was established to commemorate the visit of then Hungarian President Sólyom László to Tokyo Kioicho Campus in December 2009. With the goal of serving as a bridge between Japan and Hungary through the development of human resources, this scholarship funds the tuition of outstanding Hungarian exchange students to Josai.

2013.5.25 The 19th Annual Czech Debate Contest is held at Josai
There were ten participants, both male and female, in this year’s contest. The proceedings began with each contestant giving a self-introduction in Czech. They then each gave a five-minute speech on one of two set topics, either “food and household customs” or “personal plans for the future.” While each contestant differed in age, grade, learning experience, and environment, all demonstrated the fruits of their hard work before a large audience.
2013.3.5 Josai Launches Occupational Training Program at Budapest Business School-Japan within the World, Noriko Mizuta Scholarship for Women Leaders-
30 selected undergraduates from Josai and Josai International University participated in an occupational training program at Budapest Business School in Hungary. This program was conducted as two separate programs: Josai’s “Japan within the World” lecture series and a global internship associated with mentioned program.

2013.2.5 Josai Co-Hosts “Visegrad Group and Japan, together for Eastern Partnership”
The seminar featured 150 participants in all, including representatives from the Japanese government, ambassadors from nations in the Eastern Partnership, as well as foreign diplomats from 22 different countries, university faculty and staff, students, experts in the field, and business people demonstrating their support for Josai’s global education program.
2012.10.16 Vice President of the Czech National Bank Delivers Lecture at Josai
Vice President of the Czech National Bank, Vladimir TOMŠÍK, visited Tokyo Kioicho Campus to deliver a special lecture. The lecture discussed a variety of topics including the strengths and principles of Czech economics, the Czech economic situation and the monetary policy of the national banks under the financial crisis, the macro-economic outlook, and the impact of the European economic crisis. The students in the audience listened attentively to the lecture, which was followed by a lively Q&A session.

2012.4.12 The First Lady of the Republic of Poland Visited Josai
Anna Komorowska, First Lady of the Republic of Poland, visited Tokyo Kioicho Campus of the Josai University Educational Corporation and met Chancellor Noriko Mizuta.
2011.5.18 Chancellor Noriko Mizuta was awarded the Pro Cultura Hungarica from the Republic of Hungary
Mr. Erno Bohar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the Republic of Hungary in Japan, presented the Pro Cultura Hungarica to JIU Chancellor Noriko Mizuta at the Hungarian Embassy in Tokyo on May 18, 2011.

2009.12.3 The Hungarian President's visit to Josai
On December 3rd 2009, President Sólyom László of the Republic of Hungary paid a visit to the Kioi-cho campus, delivered a special lecture, and spent time with students.
